A 3-km circumference lake adjacent to Kairaku-en with a developed lakeside path, popular for family walks and jogging. Statues of Mito Komon (Tokugawa Mitsukuni), Sukesuke, and Kakusuke stand as memorial photo spots celebrating the festival's heritage. 水戸駅北口から大工町交差点にかけての国道50号を舞台に、2026年は8月1日(土)・2日(日)の11時から21時まで開催される水戸の夏を代表する祭りです。このコースでは初日である8月1日を主役に据えています。「水戸黄門まつり」の名の通り、水戸黄門(徳川光圀)にゆかりの深い水戸の街を、山車や神輿が1日を通して練り歩き、沿道は朝から夜まで多くの人出でにぎわいます。昼間に見学した偕楽園や弘道館、千波湖の黄門像とあわせて訪れることで、水戸の歴史と祭りのつながりをより深く感じられる1日になります。屋台の出店状況は年により変わるため、食事は周辺の飲食店で計画的にとるのがおすすめです。

Tips

祭り当日は国道50号が長時間にわたり歩行者天国となり、周辺道路も交通規制がかかります。公共交通機関の利用が安心です。日中は日差しが強いため、こまめな休憩と水分補給を心がけましょう。小さな子ども連れは、人出が増える夕方以降ははぐれないよう注意してください。
