Chuo Park Fountain (中央公園 噴水), Obihiro

About this spot

The Chuo Park Fountain (中央公園 噴水) in Obihiro (帯広) is a free water play area in Chuo Park in Obihiro City. The 2026 operating period has not yet been announced, and in most years the water runs in step with the summer school holidays. Because the park is close to the city center, you can drop in casually after shopping or a meal and head straight home when the play is over, which is a real advantage. There is no depth like a swimming pool, so even small children who are not used to water can get used to it little by little beside a parent's hand. This fountain is lit up at night, showing a form completely different from daytime water play. You can also come back after dinner and close the day watching the glowing water.

Tips

The 2026 operating period has not been announced. Before you set out, always check with Obihiro City's information whether the fountain is running that day. It is sometimes stopped because of the weather or equipment inspections. Assume there are no changing rooms, so wearing swimwear underneath makes changing much easier. The wet floor around the fountain is slippery, so check the footing with your children before they run. If you plan to see the evening illumination, be sure to bring a layer to put on after getting out of the water.

Best time to visit

Enter from 14:20 and you can play for more than two hours until evening. The evening illumination is at its best after the sun goes down
