Shiokaze Park (潮風公園) Fountain Plaza and Cascade

About this spot

The Shiokaze Park Fountain Plaza and Cascade is a free water play spot in Shiokaze Park (潮風公園) in Shinagawa Ward. It consists of a cascade, a flowing channel about 130 metres long linking the south entrance and the central entrance, together with fountains and an artificial pond, and because the water is shallow even small children can walk around and play on their own feet. In 2026 it operates all year, from Thursday 1 January to Thursday 31 December, from 10:00 to 19:00; in July and August from 10:00 to 20:00, and from October to March from 10:00 to 17:00. Because you can walk along the long channel, you can play while moving from upstream to downstream, a pleasure that an ordinary paddling pool does not offer. The grounds also have an observation deck, a barbecue area and a lawn plaza, so there is plenty to do after you get out of the water. The open location facing the sea also makes the view at dusk a highlight.

Tips

It stops during strong winds and during cleaning and inspection. Check the operating status on the park's official page before you set out. In July and August it runs until 20:00, so you can even plan an outing from the early evening. The sea breeze is strong and a wet body chills more than you expect, so prepare something to throw on as soon as you come out. Changing space is limited, so wearing swimwear under your clothes shortens the preparation on site.

Best time to visit

Arrive at 15:20 and you can play for more than two and a half hours in the gentler light, and enjoy the view at dusk as well
