A scenic spot in Uto City where a small cape jutting into Ariake Sea becomes an entire park. A coastal walking path winds around a lush green hill, with the tidal flats of Ariake Sea spreading before you and the mountain range of Shimabara Peninsula visible across the water. Atop the cape stands Sumiyoshi Shrine, which has watched over maritime safety, and its tree-shaded grounds are filled with quiet, refreshing air. It is also loved as a destination for hydrangea viewing, with the walking path becoming beautifully colored in early summer. Located near Nabeta Kaishokuro and along the coastline continuing to Okoshiki Kaigan, it is the perfect spot to pause. Experience the Ariake Sea landscape slowly while feeling the sea breeze during a walk around the cape.
小贴士
Though the walking path makes a manageable loop, wear comfortable walking shoes as the cape has some elevation. The seacoast has limited shade, so bringing a hat is recommended. There are no shops in the area, so bring drinks with you.
