2026 Kubokawa Festival Fireworks Display: A Full Day to Enjoy
Centered on the Kubokawa Festival Fireworks Display (窪川まつり花火大会) held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, this course lets you enjoy a full day in Kubokawa, the central district of Shimanto Town. At midday, visit Iwamotoji Temple (岩本寺), the 37th sacred site of Shikoku, and in the afternoon tour the retro station building of Kubokawa Station (窪川駅), the starting station of the Tosa Kuroshio Railway. Stroll and food-hop along Honmachi Shopping Street (本町), then look for souvenirs of local products at the roadside station Michi-no-Eki Aguri Kubokawa (道の駅あぐり窪川). After enjoying food stalls at the festival from 6:00 PM, look up at the fireworks from Honmachi Shopping Street's Pocket Park (本町商店街・ポケットパーク) starting at 8:00 PM.
