About this spot
A folk-tale-like village with traditional kabuto-style thatched-roof farmhouses nestled in the foothills overlooking Mount Fuji and Lake Saiko. It recreates the landscape of the former Neba village that once existed here, with about 20 thatched houses, each serving as a workshop, shop, or museum. Some houses offer hands-on experiences in pottery, incense-making, and handmade washi paper, perfect for children to create travel memories. On clear days, Mount Fuji rises majestically beyond the thatched roofs, creating a spectacular vista and popular photo spot for family pictures.
Tips
Free parking available. The grounds feature gravel paths and slopes, so babywearing or comfortable walking shoes are better than a stroller. Experience menus have different reception hours for each building, so check the guide map upon entry. Early morning has fewer visitors, allowing you to photograph Mount Fuji and the village at a leisurely pace.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 45 minutes required. Mount Fuji is most clearly visible in the crisp morning air.
