A residence with an approximately 2,400-tsubo strolling Japanese garden located along the moat of Kishiwada Castle. Built in the early Showa period as a villa for the Terada zaibatsu family, its construction took approximately 10 years. The main house in sukiya-style architecture and the tea house are registered as Nationally Designated Tangible Cultural Properties. Currently operating as a Japanese cuisine restaurant, you can slowly savor kaiseki courses and set meals while enjoying views of the meticulously maintained garden. The garden path that circles the pond, with its strategically placed stone lanterns and stepping stones, shows refined attention to detail throughout. The garden alone is worth exploring before and after your meal. It's the perfect lunch spot for this castle town course—a luxurious moment to share conversations with friends amid the castle tour.

Tips

Right along the moat of Kishiwada Castle and just a few minutes' walk from the Danjiri Hall. Seats with garden views are popular, so reservations are recommended for weekend lunches. Since you'll remove your shoes in the tatami seating areas, easy-to-remove footwear is comfortable. You can take a full walk around the garden before and after your meal, so allow a little extra time. Restaurant has limited hours, so plan accordingly.

Approximately 1.5 hours. Arriving shortly after opening allows you to secure a seat with good garden views and enjoy a leisurely meal.
