Nationally known as the birthplace of the "Chirimen Monster" activity, this is a municipal natural history museum in Kishiwada. Chirimen Monsters are tiny creatures found mixed in dried sardines—baby octopuses, squid, seahorses, and other small sea life. The observational activities conducted here spread the practice throughout Japan. The exhibits focus on fossils found in geological layers around Kishiwada, creatures of Osaka Bay, and familiar nature. The collection of impressive taxidermied animals is also quite impressive. Despite the modest adult admission fee of 200 yen, the museum offers detailed commentary by curators and well-planned exhibitions. It's a place where groups of adult friends can recapture their sense of wonder and have a great time—a fitting grand finale to your castle town tour.

Located right next to the Danjiri Hall and just a short walk from Kishiwada Castle, making it easy to fit into the castle town itinerary. Chirimen Monster hunts and other hands-on experience events have specific scheduled dates, so check the official website in advance if you wish to participate. Closed Mondays. Arriving before 3 p.m. ensures a relaxed visit without rushing before closing time.
