About this spot

This day-use hot spring facility is located within Mt. Iwate Yakebashiri International Exchange Village, right next to the Yakebashiri Lava Flow, a nationally designated Special Natural Monument. It has both Japanese- and Western-style bathing rooms; the walls of the Japanese-style room are lined with actual chunks of lava, and the fan-shaped bathing room offers views of Mt. Iwate. The facility also includes the restaurant Ohho-tei (おっほ亭), a cottage village, and a campsite. Day-use bathing hours are 9:30-20:30 on weekdays and Sundays/holidays (last entry 20:00), and 9:30-21:00 on the days before holidays (last entry 20:30).

Tips

After feeling the power of the volcano on your walk through the Yakebashiri Lava Flow, you can finish your trip by soaking in a bath with views of Mt. Iwate. It's open until 21:00 on the days before holidays and until 20:30 otherwise, with last entry 30 minutes before closing.
