The Mikuma River flows gently through Hita city and serves as the stage for tonight's fireworks festival. Walking along the well-maintained riverside promenade, you'll encounter views of green mountains reflected on the water's surface and traditional river boats called "Hita-kudari" traveling back and forth. Checking the launch site in advance during daytime will help you choose your viewing spot later at night. The pleasant river breeze during early summer daytime makes it perfect for a leisurely walk with rest breaks on shaded benches. This is a moment to truly appreciate why Hita is called "Water Town Hita," standing beside this clear stream.

Tips

You can reach the riverbank in about 10 minutes on foot from Mameda-machi. The promenade is paved, but wear comfortable walking shoes due to some steps and gravel sections. Check boat boarding locations in advance. The evening viewing area is popular and crowded at night, so it's convenient to scout the location during daytime.

Best time to visit

Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes required. Early summer daytime offers pleasant river breezes and the scenery of mountains and river is most beautifully reflected during this time.
