This scenic spot within Naruto Park (鳴門公園), home to Uzu no Michi (渦の道), offers a sweeping panorama from the Senjojiki Observation Deck (千畳敷展望台) taking in the Onaruto Bridge, the Naruto Strait, and Awaji Island in the distance. The open feeling of overlooking the strait all the way to Hyogo Prefecture on the far shore is exceptional, and pairing it with the ‘view from directly below’ experience at Uzu no Michi gives you a more three-dimensional sense of the whirlpools' scale. A promenade is laid out over the rocky shore, letting you stroll on solid footing while enjoying the sea breeze. Conserve your energy here for the evening's fireworks while capturing Naruto's daytime scenery on camera.

Tips

The Senjojiki area is a few minutes' walk from Uzu no Michi (渦の道). The observation deck is free to use, and parking is available. Some sections have rocky footing, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Summer sunlight is strong, so don't forget a hat and something to drink.
