About this spot

Lake Kanayama gradually fills with spectators starting from the evening of the festival day. After spreading a leisure sheet to secure your spot, wait for the show to begin while gathered around the dinner you've procured. This mountain lake at high altitude is cool even from the evening in midsummer, offering a comfort different from city fireworks displays. Spending time watching the day fade and the lake surface's color change gradually is also one of the pleasures of this course.

Tips

Nights can be colder than expected, so don't forget a light jacket. Since some areas of the lakeside have limited lighting, a flashlight or smartphone light is helpful.

Best time to visit

Approximately 2 hours 30 minutes required. Please enjoy the color changes of the lake surface at twilight
