Saiko Maehama, where the fireworks are launched, is a spot where spectators begin to gather as evening approaches. Spread out a dinner picked up from stalls or vendors, and enjoy watching the sun set behind the mountain ridge as the color of the lake gradually changes. Around Lake Sai, which sits at a relatively high elevation, evenings stay cool even in midsummer, letting you wait for the show to begin in a quiet atmosphere quite different from a fireworks festival in the city.

Tips

Within walking distance of the shore of Lake Sai. It can get colder than expected at night, so do not forget a jacket. Some areas along the shore have little lighting, so bringing a flashlight will help on the way back.
