About this spot
Lake Saiko's Maehama area, where fireworks are launched, is where viewers begin gathering in the evening. Spread out dinner obtained from shops or food stalls and leisurely watch as the sun sets over the mountains and the lake surface changes color. The high-altitude area around Lake Saiko is cool even in midsummer evenings, allowing you to await the opening in a peaceful atmosphere quite different from urban fireworks displays.

2026年8月2日(日)開催、富士五湖のひとつ西湖を舞台にした花火大会です。湖上から約1,000発の花火が夜空に次々と打ち上がり、周囲を山に囲まれた静かな湖面には「逆さ花火」が美しく映り込みます。19時30分から19時50分までの20分間に凝縮された花火は、テンポよく打ち上がるぶん見応えがあり、静けさの中に響く音と光のコントラストが印象的です。ほかの富士五湖の花火大会に比べて人出が控えめなのも、ゆったり楽しみたい家族連れには嬉しいポイントです。
Tips
荒天時は中止または順延の場合があるため、当日は主催者の発表を確認しましょう。開催時間が短いので、開始10〜15分前には見やすい場所に着いておくのがおすすめです。終了後は帰り道が暗いので懐中電灯を用意しておくと安全です。

Within walking distance from the lake shore. Nights can be colder than expected, so don't forget a cardigan. The lakeside has poorly lit areas, so a flashlight is useful for the return trip.
