About this spot

This unusual gorge was formed as a tributary of the Yamakuni River carved the rock over a long span of years, leaving a series of rounded potholes. The contrast between the sheer rock faces and the clear stream is beautiful, letting you feel the raw power of Yabakei's nature up close. A well-maintained promenade makes it easy to walk even with family in tow. In summer, the breeze crossing the water is refreshing, making it a perfect spot to cool off.

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from Michi-no-Eki Yaba Topia. Some sections of the promenade can be wet and slippery, so wear comfortable walking shoes. The viewpoint offers a view of the entire gorge.
