This nationally famous festival is held across the old castle town area around Kishiwada Castle from 6am to 10pm on Saturday, September 19, 2026, and from 9am to 10pm on Sunday, September 20. Danjiri floats weighing over 4 tons are pulled at thrilling speed, and the yarimawashi — turning street corners at right angles — is known as the festival's biggest highlight. From the morning's hikidashi (pull-out) to the evening's lantern-lit hiire eiko parade, the festival shows a different face depending on the time of day, and the whole old castle town is wrapped in excitement throughout the day.
