One of Tokushima's authentic Awa Odori festivals held at the makeshift stage around JR Naruto Station. In 2026, performances run for three days from August 9-11, from 7 PM to 10 PM nightly. To the rhythm of 'zomeki' sounds—bells, drums, shamisen, and flutes—troupes dressed in unique costumes perform their distinctive choreography one after another right before your eyes. Enjoy the bold, powerful footwork of the male dancers, the graceful movements and fan work of the female dancers, and the energetic dancing of children. At this town of whirlpools, experience the roaring atmosphere of Awa Odori mingled with the scent of the sea.

On performance days, traffic restrictions are in effect around the station, and the areas along the performance stage become extremely crowded. For better views, arrive early to secure a spot along the street. Stroller access to the front row is difficult; rear areas or wide intersections nearby are safer for families with small children.
