A scenic spot selected as one of Japan's 100 Best Rice Terraces, with over 1,000 small paddies stacked in layers down a steep slope facing the Sea of Japan. The sight of verdant summer rice plants interspersed with the blue of the sea beyond is one of Noto's most iconic landscapes. From the observation deck, you can view the entire panorama of the paddies, making it a popular photography spot. Experiencing this natural beauty before heading to the festival venue will make the contrast with the night festival even more memorable.

輪島市中心部の海士町・河井町・鳳至町・輪島崎町など、各地区の神社を舞台に開かれる能登を代表する夏祭りです。2026年は8月22日から25日までの4日間の開催で、コースの対象日はその初日にあたります。夜になると、和紙と木組みで作られた高さ数メートルの巨大な灯籠「キリコ」が各町内から繰り出され、提灯の明かりを揺らしながら勇壮な掛け声とともに町を練り歩きます。能登地方に古くから伝わるキリコ祭りの中でも輪島大祭は特に規模が大きく、港町の夜が熱気に包まれる、この時期ならではの迫力ある光景を楽しめます。

Tips

祭り期間中は市街地の一部が交通規制となり、駐車場も混み合います。夜の練り歩きは人出が多いため、小さなお子さん連れははぐれないよう手をつないで見学しましょう。荒天時は日程が変更になる場合があるため、最新情報の確認がおすすめです。
