About this spot

This is a shrine that has long been enshrined in Tawaramoto Town, dedicated to the deity of mirror making. This area is said to be the land where people who made mirrors once lived, and that history remains exactly as it is in the shrine's name. The grounds are quiet and compact, so walking here with small children is not tiring. If you first talk about how mirrors were extremely precious in the old days and then visit, children see the place differently. Stopping by first thing in the morning means few other people and a relaxed visit.

Tips

Worship is free. There are gravel paths on the grounds, so comfortable walking shoes are a safe choice. The shrine office is not always open, so if you want a goshuin seal, check in advance. The surrounding roads are narrow, so drive slowly.
