Kita-Kamakura: The Path of Hydrangeas and Zen
Head to Kita-Kamakura in June, when hydrangeas are in bloom. Take a deep breath at the gate of Engakuji (円覚寺), admire the iconic blue hydrangea approach and the Window of Enlightenment at Meigetsuin (明月院), and savor kenchinjiru at Kenchoji (建長寺). After climbing the grand stone steps of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu (鶴岡八幡宮), finish with a visit to the serene white face of Ofuna Kannon.
