A nature walk through Mitarai Gorge, one of the Kansai region's most beautiful clear streams, and Dorogawa, a village of mountain ascetic practice—perfect for a group of friends. Walk the trail lined with emerald pools and suspension bridges, then head to Dorogawa Hot Spring Town. You'll encounter the serene grounds of Ryusenji Temple, the Menbutsu-dō Stalactite Cave reached by monorail, and the celebrated 'Gorogo Water' from the hundred celebrated waters list. End the day with a relaxing foot bath in the hot spring town. Spend the day soaking in plenty of negative ions.
Schedule
Hike the walking trail for approximately 2 hours featuring emerald pools, waterfalls, and suspension bridges
Visit the root dojo of Mount Ōmine and slowly stroll through its serene, spring-water-filled grounds
Ride the mini monorail to the stalactite cave and view stalactite formations in the cool cavern
Sample spring water at the celebrated water collection point—filling bottles to take home is a standard souvenir
End your hot spring town stroll with a foot bath in front of the facility, enjoying the misty atmosphere and retro inns
