Kishigawa Line: A Three-Shrine Pilgrimage Aboard the Tama Train
A parent-and-child train journey visiting venerable shrines aboard the Wakayama Electric Railway Kishigawa Line, famous for Stationmaster Tama. Enjoy the walk along each station's approach as you visit Hinokuma Shrine and Kunikakasu Shrine (日前神宮・國懸神宮), Kii Province's Ichinomiya, then Kamayama Shrine (竈山神社), and Itakiso Shrine (伊太祁曽神社), dedicated to the god of trees. In the afternoon, spread out a picnic lunch at lakeside Oike Yuen, and snap a photo of the Tama Train crossing the red wooden bridge. At the terminus, Kishi Station, the cypress-bark-roofed Tama Station building welcomes you. A day that will bring smiles to children and adults alike.
