Aridagawa Aragi Island and Railway Park Tour
Drive from Aridagawa Railway Park—where vintage diesel trains are preserved—into the mountains for stunning scenery. Travel along the shore of Futagawa Dam and view the spectacular fan-shaped terraced rice fields of Aragi Island, one of Japan's Top 100 sites, from the observation point. Enjoy local mountain cuisine at the nearby Michino-Eki Aragi-no-Sato station for lunch. Finish at Washigamine Cosmos Park at 586 meters elevation, where you can see an expansive panorama stretching from the Aridagawa River all the way to the sea. It's a perfect day-trip drive for all three generations—grandparents, parents, and grandchildren alike.
