Start at Kitakami Municipal Park Tenshow-chi, one of the three great cherry blossom viewing sites of Michinoku. Stroll leisurely along a 2km cherry tree-lined walking path beside the Kitakami River, then enjoy lunch with local flavors at Tenshow-chi Rest House. In the afternoon, explore a settlement of thatched farmhouses at the adjacent Michinoku Folklore Village, learn about the life and nature of the Kitakami River basin at the Kitakami Municipal Museum, then finish by playing freely on the broad lawns of Iwate Prefectural Agriculture Interaction Park.
