Sakaiminato: A GeGeGe Stroll Along Mizuki Shigeru Road and Yokai Shrine

A one-day course in Sakaiminato, the hometown of Kitaro, where the whole family can immerse themselves in the world of yokai. Set off from Sakaiminato Station, where the Kitaro Train stops, and head onto Mizuki Shigeru Road, which runs about 800m from the station. Walk with your kids, hunting for the bronze yokai statues standing here and there along the sidewalk, and children will get absorbed as if on a stamp rally. Pray at Yokai Shrine, where Medama Oyaji spins around, experience the world of yokai at the Mizuki Shigeru Memorial Museum, and finish with a snack break featuring the Medama Oyaji yokai sweet. The walking distance is compact, yet packed with highlights, making it manageable even with small children in tow. This GeGeGe stroll is sure to bring smiles all day, for yokai fans and first-time families alike.
