Umino-Nakamichi and Shikajima: A Spectacular Journey with Dolphins and Sea Breezes
A Fukuoka leisure course that spans from the sandbar of Umino-Nakamichi, sandwiched between Hakata Bay and the Genkai Sea, to Shikajima, the island of the gold seal legend, for an all-sea-filled day of enjoyment. In the morning, Marine World Umino-Nakamichi thrills with dolphin shows set against Hakata Bay and massive tanks recreating Kyushu's waters. At the adjacent Umino-Nakamichi Seaside Park, after lunch within the grounds, you'll greet capybaras and kangaroos at the Animal Forest. In the afternoon, drive along a single-lane road with sea pressing in from both sides to Shikajima. Layer on the scenic views: Kin-in Park (金印公園) where the national treasure seal is said to have been discovered, and Ushiomi Park Observation Tower at the island's summit, where you can sweep your gaze across Hakata Bay and the Genkai Sea, before concluding at Shikaiumi Shrine (志賀海神社), said to be the head shrine of the sea deity. Come experience this spectacular journey for the whole family, wrapped in dolphins and sea breezes.
