2026 Kyoto Art Fireworks: A Full-Day Course
This full-day course lets you enjoy the quintessentially Kyoto scenery of the Fushimi and Uji areas from midday, centered around the Kyoto Art Fireworks (京都芸術花火) held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. In the afternoon, pass through the Senbon Torii (千本鳥居) of Fushimi Inari Taisha (伏見稲荷大社) and walk the vermilion approach to experience the depth of Kyoto. Next, take a leisurely stroll through Fushimi's sake-brewery streets, redolent with history from the late Edo period, and enjoy the scenery along the Hori River (濠川). In the evening, secure a spot near the Jikkoku-bune (十石舟) boat landing and fill up at a riverside restaurant. After dark, head to Kyoto Racecourse (京都競馬場) to enjoy a spectacular show of about 13,500 shells blooming across the night sky. This special one-day plan for Kyoto's early summer packs in a stroll through temples and shrines, a walk through a sake-brewing town, and breathtaking artistic fireworks.
