2026 Onpara Matsuri Festival Fireworks Display Full-Day Course
A full-day course centered around the Onpara Matsuri Festival Fireworks Display, held on July 31, 2026 (Friday), allowing you to enjoy the entire Sakurai area of ancient Yamato from afternoon onwards. In the afternoon, pay your respects at Omwa Shrine (大神神社), one of Japan's oldest shrines, and experience the breath of ancient times at the foot of Mount Miwa. Continue to the temple gate town of Hasedera (長谷寺), said to be where Japan's first marketplace was established, and take a nature walk along the Yamabe no Michi (山辺の道) route mentioned in classical poetry. In the evening, grab a meal and secure your viewing spot near Tsunakoshi Shrine (綱越神社) at Sakurai City Shiba Athletic Park, and when dusk falls, look up at approximately 2,000 fireworks. A luxuriously packed full-day plan, filled with ancient Nara romance and a summer night festival, truly emblematic of the Asuka-Yamato region.
