2026 Ikoma Dondoko Festival Summer Fireworks: A Full-Day Course

This course puts the Ikoma Dondoko Festival Summer Fireworks (いこまどんどこまつり納涼花火大会), held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at its center, letting you fully enjoy the nature and history of Ikoma City (生駒市), Nara Prefecture, over the course of a day. In the afternoon, enjoy the attractions and the grand panorama from the mountaintop at Ikoma Sanjo Yuenchi (生駒山上遊園地), then ride the cable car back down and stop by Hozanji Temple (宝山寺) to stroll its quiet grounds. In the evening, enjoy the lively atmosphere of the festival held at various venues around Ikoma Station (生駒駅) while preparing to watch the fireworks, which launch from two locations, Takayama Bamboo Grove Garden (高山竹林園) and Mukaiyama Park (むかいやま公園), from 8:00 PM to 8:15 PM. This is a summer day plan unique to Ikoma, where the rich nature of Mount Ikoma (生駒山) coexists with the lively, old-town atmosphere of the festival.
