2026 Sakata Fireworks Festival - Full Day Course
A full-day course to enjoy Sakata City, Yamagata Prefecture from daytime onwards, with the Sakata Fireworks Festival (held on Saturday, September 12, 2026) as the main attraction. Approximately 10,000 brilliant fireworks will be launched at the Mogami River Park venue, boasting some of the most impressive scale in the Tohoku region. In the afternoon, from Yamaoikura, which conveys the history and culture of Sakata City, we'll head to the lively Nakamachi (central town) area. In the evening, we'll enjoy the pre-opening atmosphere at the Mogami River riverbed, have dinner, and when dusk falls, fireworks will open in the night sky right before your eyes. Please enjoy with your whole family this festival of light woven by the fireworks that herald the beginning of autumn in the port town of Sakata and the flow of the Mogami River.
