2026 Takehara Summer Festival Fireworks Display: A Full-Day Course
This is a full-day course centered on the Takehara Summer Festival Fireworks Display (たけはら夏まつり花火大会), held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, letting you fully enjoy the charm of Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture, from midday onward. Takehara City is known as the 「Little Kyoto of Aki」(安芸の小京都), a town that flourished through the Edo-period salt production industry, and its white-walled townscape has been designated a National Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. In the afternoon, walk around this charming townscape, stopping by historic temples and shrines to soak up the atmosphere of Takehara. In the evening, head to the seaside, fuel up while enjoying the sea breeze, and secure a viewing spot before the fireworks begin. At 8:00 p.m., fireworks launched from the Seto Inland Sea (瀬戸内海) off the J-POWER (Electric Power Development) Ground (J-POWER(電源開発)グラウンド) color the summer night sky. This is a uniquely Takehara summer day plan combining a historic town walk with seaside fireworks.
