2026 Nyugawa Fireworks Festival (にゅうがわ花火大会): A Full-Day Course
This one-day course puts the Nyugawa Fireworks Festival (にゅうがわ花火大会), held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, center stage, letting you enjoy the charms of Saijo City, Ehime Prefecture from midday onward. Saijo is also known as a “city of water,” where “uchinuki” (うちぬき), a natural spring water selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Water Sources, gushes out from spots all over town. In the afternoon, stroll the cool grounds of Isono Shrine (伊曽乃神社), Saijo's guardian shrine, and walk along the nature-rich riverbank of the Kamo River (加茂川), which offers views of Mount Ishizuchi (石鎚山). In the evening, fuel up around Nyugawa Station (壬生川駅) while soaking in the local summer atmosphere, then head to the venue early to stake out a spot. As night falls, about 6,000 fireworks bloom one after another over Asahi-shinkai (旭新開), filling Saijo's summer night with color. With the refreshing breeze unique to a riverside town, this is the definitive summer Saijo plan for the whole family to enjoy.
