2026 TKU Ezutsu Lake Fireworks Festival Full-Day Course
This is a full-day course to enjoy the nature and culture of Kumamoto City centered around the TKU Ezutsu Lake Fireworks Festival, being held on August 29 (Saturday), 2026, starting from the afternoon. In the afternoon, gaze up at the majestic stone walls and tenshu of Kumamoto Castle, and walk through the impregnable fortress built by Kato Kiyomasa. Then slowly stroll through the spring-fed gardens and Momoyama-style landscape of Suizenji Jojuen, and move to Suizenji Ezutsu Lake Park Hiroki area (the venue) in the evening to secure a viewing spot. Approximately 10,000 fireworks launch onto the surface of the lower Ezutsu Lake, with the highlight being the spectacular display created by the merger of reflections on the water and the echo of the sounds. This is the definitive summer Kumamoto plan, combining a castle-town stroll through the city with grand fireworks on the lake.
