2026 Kanzaki Beach Full-Day Course
Centered on Kanzaki Beach (神崎海水浴場) in Maizuru City, Kyoto Prefecture, open from Wednesday, July 1 to Monday, August 31, 2026, this is a full-day course touring the scenery of the Yura River mouth and Wakasa Bay. In the morning, watch trains at Tango-Yura Station (丹後由良駅), which retains a retro atmosphere, and enjoy the spectacular view of the railway bridge and sea at the Yura River Bridge (由良川橋梁), also known from a Detective Conan movie. Next, take a close look at Tateiwa (立岩), a massive rock jutting out into the sea, and once you've had something to eat, it's finally time for Kanzaki Beach. The calm sandy beach facing Wakasa Bay has free swimming, and restrooms and cold-water showers are also free, facilities that families will appreciate. The hot-water showers at the beach huts are paid, so using one as a finishing touch before changing is comfortable. The parking lot is spacious, with room for about 1,500 cars, and costs 1,000 yen per day. Spend the whole afternoon enjoying water play and sandcastle building at the water's edge, and take your time at the beach until evening. This is a day to fully enjoy both the sea and history of Tango, and the summer of Maizuru.
