2026 Takeno Beach: A Full One-Day Course
Centered on Takeno Beach in Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture, open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM from Wednesday, July 1 through Sunday, August 23, 2026, this course lets you savor the charm of the sea and hot springs unique to the Sea of Japan coast in a single day. In the morning, walk out onto Nekozaki Peninsula, which juts out right by Takeno Beach, and feel the grandeur of the Sea of Japan from the view at its lighthouse. Next, head over to Kinosaki Onsen, known for its willow-lined streets and atmospheric round of outdoor bathhouses. Take a leisurely stroll along the Otani River and stop at one bathhouse to soothe your travel fatigue. For lunch, savor Tajima's seafood at a restaurant in Kinosaki Onsen. In the afternoon, it's finally time for Takeno Beach. Along this clear, shallow-sloping shore stand six beach huts (umi no ie), convenient for meals and rest. Life jacket rentals (500 yen) are also available, so even families with small children can play safely at the water's edge. Paid parking is available too, making a visit by car easy.
