2026 Tsunoshima Ohama Beach (角島大浜海水浴場) One-Day Course

This one-day course centers on Tsunoshima Ohama Beach (角島大浜海水浴場), open from Friday, July 17 to Monday, August 31, 2026, and takes you on a loop around Tsunoshima (角島) in Shimonoseki City. In the morning, first visit the white Tsunoshima Lighthouse (角島灯台), the symbol of Tsunoshima, and enjoy the view of the Suo Sea (周防灘) from the lighthouse park. Next, move to Yumezaki Nami no Koen (夢崎波の公園), overlooking Tsunoshima Ohashi Bridge (角島大橋), and spend a moment with the whole family admiring the stunning view of the bridge spanning the cobalt-blue sea. For lunch, enjoy local seafood cuisine at the roadside station Michi-no-Eki Kitaura Kaido Hokuhoku (道の駅北浦街道豊北), and pick up any extra beach gear you need. The highlight is Tsunoshima Ohama Beach in the afternoon. It has white sand and a calm, shallow-sloping sea, swimming is free, and 200 parking spaces are also free to use. It's a proper beach facility complete with bungalows, a rest area, shower facilities, and a cooking building, where you can also enjoy camping and barbecues (marine sports are not allowed).
