2026 Miyaumi Beach 1-Day Full Experience Course
From July 18 to August 16, 2026, open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., this full-day experience course centers on Miyaumi Beach in Sakata, Yamagata Prefecture, while touring the city of Sakata. In the morning, enjoy nostalgic scenery at Yamoi Warehouse (山居倉庫), which showcases the history of Sakata, Japan's rice country, and spend a quiet time appreciating photography and gardens at the Domonken Photography Museum in Iimori-yama Park. Next, stop by Hiwa-yama Park and feel the travel spirit from the elevated plateau overlooking the Mogami River mouth and the Japan Sea. After lunch, it's time to head to Miyaumi Beach. Swimming is free, and the beach is equipped with public toilets, changing rooms, showers, first aid stations, and lifeguards, plus food stalls along the shore, so families can enjoy peace of mind. Parking charges a cleaning cooperation fee of approximately 0–1,000 yen for regular cars (varies by season). On the gentle sloping sandy beach, enjoy water play at the shoreline and sand play until 5 p.m. Feel the Shonai sea breeze and the blessings of the Mogami River as you create summer memories for your family at Sakata's beach.
