
2026 Nishihama Beach Full Day Course
Nishihama Beach in Yusa Town, Yamagata Prefecture, is a public beach open from July 17 (Friday) to August 16 (Sunday) in 2026. Located on the northern Shōnai coast with views of Mt. Chōkai, swimming hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This full-day course explores Yusa Town's unique nature and history in the morning, includes lunch, and features beach swimming in the afternoon. First, experience the serene waters of the mystical spring-fed pond "Marui-ike-sama," then explore the stone Buddha group "Jūroku Rakan Iwa" along Fukiura's coast while enjoying the sea breeze and local history. Enjoy local flavors at Michi-no-Eki Chōkai Furatto for lunch, then head to Nishihama Beach for the afternoon swim. The beach is equipped with restrooms, changing rooms, showers, and first aid facilities, with lifeguards on duty, making it safe for families with small children. Swimming is free, and beach houses provide convenient rest stops and meals. Parking costs ¥500 for regular cars and ¥200 for motorcycles. Spend a full summer day on this sandy beach with Mt. Chōkai as your backdrop.
