2026 Taneichi Kaihama Park Beach Full-Day Course
A full-day course to thoroughly enjoy the seaside of Yono Town (洋野町), Iwate Prefecture, centered around Taneichi Kaihama Park Beach (種市海浜公園海水浴場), which opens from July 20 (Mon., national holiday) to August 16 (Sun.), 2026. Note that swimming is prohibited from July 21 (Tue.) to 24 (Fri.) due to staffing constraints. In the morning, explore the fishing port and uni propagation channels unique to Yono Town, known as a major uni (sea urchin) production area, and experience the local maritime lifestyle. At midday, grab a meal in Taneichi town, then head to Taneichi Kaihama Park Beach in the afternoon. Swimming is free, and the management lodge is equipped with toilets, hot-water showers, and lockers, so you can enjoy the ocean without worrying about changing clothes or luggage. Showers cost ¥200 for adults and ¥100 for children; lockers cost ¥100 per use—reasonable rates. Enjoy water play and sand play on the gently sloping sandy beach while savoring Iwate's summer ocean until evening. Bring your swimwear and towel and head to Yono Town's sea.
