2026 Ishiji Beach (石地海水浴場) Full-Day Course
A one-day course looping unhurriedly through the Nishiyama (西山) and Izumozaki (出雲崎) areas, starring Ishiji Beach (石地海水浴場) in Kashiwazaki City, Niigata Prefecture (新潟県柏崎市), open from Wednesday 1 July to Sunday 16 August 2026. In the morning, take a walk through the park and visit the mini museum at Michi-no-Eki Nishiyama Furusato Koen (道の駅 西山ふるさと公苑) in Nishiyamacho, Kashiwazaki City (柏崎市西山町), then look out over the Sea of Japan (日本海) from the high ground at the Ryokan Memorial Museum (良寛記念館) in the neighbouring town of Izumozaki (出雲崎町). For lunch, savour seafood at Michi-no-Eki Echigo Izumozaki Tenryo no Sato (道の駅 越後出雲崎天領の里), and once you are refuelled it is on to Ishiji Beach. Six beach houses line the gently shelving sands with their calm waves, and changing rooms and paid hot showers are fully provided. Lifeguards are on duty from Saturday 11 July to Sunday 16 August, so families can play in the waves with peace of mind. Swimming hours are 8:00 to 17:00, and parking is 1,000 yen for cars and 2,000 yen for buses. Enjoy the sand and the sea to the full until evening. Pack a swimsuit and a towel and head for the summer sea in Niigata.
