2026 Kujiranami Beach (鯨波海水浴場) Full-Day Course
A one-day course to enjoy all of Kashiwazaki's (柏崎) sea and nature, starring Kujiranami Beach (鯨波海水浴場) in Kashiwazaki City, Niigata Prefecture (新潟県柏崎市), open from Sunday 5 July to Sunday 16 August 2026 on days when lifeguards are on duty. In the morning, first meet the history and nature of Kashiwazaki at Kashiwazaki City Museum (柏崎市立博物館), then feel the sea breeze at Banjin Cape (番神岬), a scenic spot overlooking the Sea of Japan (日本海), and build your anticipation for the water. Around lunchtime, head to Kashiwazaki City Aquarium (柏崎市立水族博物館): enjoy the fish of the Sea of Japan and the dolphin show up close, and eat inside as well. Then, in the afternoon, on to Kujiranami Beach. At a beach that boasts some of the clearest water in Kashiwazaki, you can enjoy the sand and the water's edge until near evening. Swimming runs from 9:00 to 16:00, and with three beach houses you will have no trouble finding a rest. Parking at Onodachi Park (御野立公園) is free, the beach house car park is 1,000 yen per day, and one shower is available when you use a beach house. This is a generous course covering the history, wildlife and sea of Kashiwazaki in a single day, and families will welcome it. Pack a swimsuit and a towel and head for Kashiwazaki to make some summer memories.
