2026 Zaimokuza Beach Full-Day Experience Course
This is a full-day course that lets you enjoy the ancient capital of Kamakura from morning, centering on Zaimokuza Beach (材木座海水浴場), which opens from July 1 (Wednesday) to August 31 (Monday), 2026. In the morning, prepare your appetite with food stalls on Komachi-dori (小町通り) while building up Kamakura spirit, then pray for travel safety at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu (鶴岡八幡宮). Around noon, visit Komyoji Temple (光明寺), an ancient temple near Zaimokuza, and savor Kamakura's characteristic tranquility with its large gate and spacious grounds. After visiting, head to Zaimokuza Beach. Swimming hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and swimming itself is free. Public showers and toilets are also free to use, while beach hut changing rooms are available for a fee. The shallow sandy beach adjacent to Yuigahama (由比ヶ浜) has relatively calm waves and is ideal for family swimming. Take a break at a beach hut and fully enjoy the sea until evening.
