2026 Wakasa Wada Beach Full-Day Course
This is a full-day course centered on Wakasa Wada Beach, open from Saturday, July 11 to Sunday, August 30, 2026, letting you enjoy Takahama Town in Fukui Prefecture from morning to evening. In the morning, pray for a safe journey at Nakayama-dera Temple, beloved as the ‘Child-Raising Kannon,’ then enjoy views of Wakasa Bay at Shiroyama Park on the site of Takahama Castle ruins. At lunchtime, finish shopping for seafood dishes and souvenirs at the roadside station Seaside Takahama, then head to Wakasa Wada Beach in the afternoon. This gently sloping sandy beach has earned the international Blue Flag environmental certification, and is reassuring for families with beach huts offering showers and lockers, plus a first-aid station equipped with an AED. Swimming is free, and parking is ¥1,500 for regular cars. Take your time enjoying the sand and the water's edge until evening. Why not head to Takahama this summer with your swimsuit and towel?
