2026 Wakasa Koigawa Seaside Park Full-Day Enjoy Course
This is a one-day Obama course that features Wakasa Koigawa Seaside Park (open July 17 - August 30, 2026, 8 AM - 5 PM) and explores Wakasa's history and cuisine before enjoying the beach. In the morning, first stroll through Obama Nishi-gumi, a historic merchant district dating back to the Edo period, and encounter Wakasa specialties like grilled mackerel. Next, visit the Fukui Prefectural Wakasa History Museum to learn about Wakasa's food culture and history as the 'Mitsuke Country' and deepen your understanding of the region. For lunch, enjoy fresh seafood bowls and set meals at Wakasa Fisherman's Wharf near Obama Harbor, savoring the day's catch. After refueling, head to Wakasa Koigawa Seaside Park overlooking Wakasa Bay. The calm waters and spacious sandy beach offer changing rooms, showers, and parking for 700 vehicles—all family-friendly amenities. Swimming is free, and a paid BBQ area is available. In the afternoon, enjoy water play and sand play at the waves until 5 PM. This is a distinctly Obama summer day combining both history and beach activities.
