2026 Wakita Beach Full-Day Course
This is a full-day course centered on Wakita Beach in Wakamatsu Ward, Kitakyushu City, open from Sunday, July 12 to Monday, August 31, 2026. In the morning, take a leisurely stroll along Wakamatsu South Waterfront Street, once a thriving coal-shipping port, and enjoy the retro Western-style architecture and views of the Wakato Bridge. Next, visit Kotozan Park, a family-friendly spot popular for its observation deck overlooking Dokai Bay and its ‘Monkey Mountain.’ For lunch, have a meal featuring local vegetables and seafood from the Genkai Sea at the direct farm market Umi to Daichi, filling up well before heading to the sea. The climax is Wakita Beach in the afternoon. Swimming is free, and restrooms and showers are also free during the season, with four parking areas available nearby. Fireworks and barbecues are prohibited, making it a beach best enjoyed at a relaxed pace focused on playing in the water. Hours are from 8am to 5:30pm. From strolling Wakamatsu's port town to swimming in the sea, this course lets you fully enjoy a summer day.
