2026 Nishime Beach Full-Day Immersion Course

A full-day course centered around Nishime Beach (西目海水浴場) in Yurihonjo City, Akita Prefecture, which opens from July 18 (Saturday) to August 11 (Tuesday), 2026, combining local attractions and local flavors. In the morning, stroll through Dewa Fushimi Inari Shrine (出羽伏見稲荷神社) with approximately 250 red torii gates lining the approach path, and as a family, pray for the safety of your journey under the cool shade of the tree-lined path. At noon, stop by Michi no Eki Nishime (道の駅 にしめ) right near the beach for a hearty meal using Akita's local vegetables and seafood. Once you've restocked on beach supplies at the shop, head to Nishime Beach in the afternoon. Swimming is available from 9 AM to 4:30 PM at this free beach (7/18–20 early opening, 7/23–8/11 regular operation), with restrooms and parking for 150 vehicles, plus food trucks are planned.
