2026 Shirahama Ohama Beach Full-Day Experience Course
This is a one-day course centered around Shirahama Ohama Beach, one of the representative beaches of Izu-Shimoda, which opens from July 18 (Saturday) to August 31 (Monday), 2026. In the morning, browse for souvenirs and take a break at Michi-no-Eki Kaikoku Shimoda Minato facing Shimoda Harbor, then visit Ryosenji Temple to experience Shimoda's history related to the opening of Japan to the West. After lunch, head to Shimoda Aquarium. This popular spot has an open design facing the sea, where you can come face-to-face with sea lions and fish. Then comes the afternoon climax: Shirahama Ohama Beach. Extending about 800 meters is a pristine white sandy beach with a gently sloping, crystal-clear sea, renowned as one of Izu's most beautiful beaches. With changing rooms, showers, and beach huts all available, families with small children can spend the day without worry. Swimming hours are 8 AM to 4 PM. The parking area can accommodate about 300 cars, and surrounding parking is typically 1,000 to 2,000 yen per day. Bring your swimsuit and towel to enjoy a full day of sea and history in summer Shimoda.
