2026 Chitose Airport 100th Anniversary Chitose Citizens' Fireworks Festival: A Full One-Day Course

This is a course for enjoying a full day in Chitose, rich in rivers and greenery, centered on the Chitose Airport 100th Anniversary Chitose Citizens' Fireworks Festival, held from 7:45pm on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Ski Mountain (スキー山) inside the Kita-Chitose Camp (北千歳駐屯地). At midday, encounter freshwater fish and the life cycle of salmon at the Chitose Aquarium, Home of the Salmon (サケのふるさと千歳水族館), then observe the mechanism of a traditional fishing method at the Indian Water Wheel (インディアン水車) on the Chitose River. In the evening, pick up dinner in front of JR Chitose Station (千歳駅), then secure a spot near the venue and wait for the show to begin. From 7:45pm to 8:30pm, about 4,000 fireworks color the night sky. As a special fireworks display celebrating the milestone of the airport's 100th anniversary, an even more spectacular show than usual can be expected. This is a plan unique to summer in Chitose, where you can fully enjoy the nature and history of the Chitose River together with fireworks.
