2026 Sumita Town Summer Festival: A Full-Day Enjoyment Course

Centered around the Sumita Town Summer Festival held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, this course lets you explore Sumita Town, Kesen District, Iwate Prefecture, over the course of a day. During the day, fill up at Michi-no-Eki Taneyamagahara Poran (roadside station) and take a leisurely stroll through the Setamai District, where a townscape of old storehouses remains. In the afternoon, spend time on the banks of the Kesen River feeling the breeze off the water, fully enjoying the nature of this forestry town. The festival begins at 3:45 PM at the main venue in front of the Agriculture and Forestry Hall in Setamai, and in the evening you can spend time having dinner around the venue.
