2026 JSDF Iizuka Garrison Summer Festival 1-Day Full Experience Course
Held on July 24, 2026 (Friday), this 1-day course allows you to fully enjoy Iizuka City starting from early afternoon, centered around the JSDF Iizuka Garrison Summer Festival, where the history of coal mining lives on. Visit the Former Ito Denzaemon Residence at noon and touch the magnificent mansion and gardens built by the coal mining king. Then visit the historic Kaho Theater, an active playhouse that still operates today, and immerse yourself in Iizuka's unique traditions. In the evening, head to the garrison while purchasing dinner at the city center shopping district and reserve seating to wait for the show to begin. At 7 PM, fireworks light up the night sky for about an hour until 8 PM amid the warm atmosphere unique to a community open summer festival. A plan unique to Iizuka where you can greedily enjoy visiting traditional architecture and fireworks enjoyed at a close distance. Since the area around the venue becomes crowded at night, please allow plenty of time for your activities.
