2026 Goyu Summer Festival (御油夏まつり): A Full One-Day Course
Centered on the Goyu Summer Festival (御油夏まつり), held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 around Higashi-Mikawa Furusato Park (東三河ふるさと公園) and the banks of the Otowa River (音羽川) in Toyokawa City, this one-day course tours the city's history and nature. At midday, visit Toyokawa Inari (豊川稲荷), counted among Japan's Three Great Inari, then stroll the Goyu Pine Tree Avenue (御油の松並木), which still evokes the Edo period. In the afternoon, enjoy the spacious lawn and flower fields at Higashi-Mikawa Furusato Park, and in the evening, fill up on food along the Otowa River while securing your fireworks viewing spot. At 7 PM, about 3,000 fireworks shells rise into the night sky from around the park, building to a long finale that runs until 9:30 PM. A day distinctive to Toyokawa City, combining a stroll through history, nature, and summer festival fireworks in one satisfying package.
